Steps to Get an Employment Visa in Dubai

Offer Letter

Before applying for a visa, your employer needs to give you an offer letter that indicates the job position, salary and other terms of employment.

Labour Card Fees

As part of your visa application process, labour card fees have to be paid by your boss to Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MOHRE).

Submit Signed Employment Contract

Hand in your signed employment contract through MOHRE; this contract should coincide with what was mentioned on offer letter.

Entry Permit & Work Visa Application Submission

Apply for entry permit and work visa through MOHRE as well as General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) by your employer; this permit allows you enter UAE legally.

Employment Entry Visa Issuance/Getting

Once approved, employment entry visa will be given which lets you come into Dubai.

Change Of Visa Status Inside The Country (If Employee Is Within UAE)

If already inside UAE then employee status change application has to be submitted so that current Dubai visit or tourist visa can change into new employment residency without going outside country again.

Medical Fitness Test

You need to undergo a medical fitness test at an authorized medical centre in the UAE. This includes physical examination, blood test and chest X-ray.

Emirates ID Application

Once you pass the medical fitness test, apply for an Emirates ID card through Federal Authority for Identity & Citizenship (ICA).

Employees Residency Visa Stamping

Lastly submit employee’s passport along with other required documents at GDRFA office where residency visa will be stamped into it which allows legally reside as well work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
